W.W. Hixson & Co. created a series of plat books for Missouri in 1930.
The maps use the Public Land Survey System (townships and ranges) to record land ownership.
The following image is a part of the Swan Township map of Taney County which shows a parcel of land
owned by
C.B. Sharp.[1]
C.B. Sharp.[1]
Map of part of Swan Township, T. 24 N., R. 20 W., of Taney County, Missouri.
The colorized parcel in section 35 is labeled C.B. Sharp. (Each section square is 1 mile per side.)
Commentary:
The 1930 U.S. census household for Charles B. Sharpp was located in Swan Township but outside the formal boundary
of the city of Forsyth.[2] The plat map shows that although Charles
lived outside of Forsyth, the town was only 0.5 miles west, across the White River.
Taney County land records, with Charles and Bertie Sharp as grantors/grantees, should exist for this property
as well as previously held property in Forsyth.
