On 6 July 1846, William C. Sharp purchased the south half of In Lot 40 of Pinkney James Addition, from Joshua and Susannah Seward for 100 dollars. A transcription of the deed follows the images.

Sharp Family Land Purchase, Rising Sun, IN, 1843

On 24 November 1843, William Sharpe purchased In Lot 42 of Pinkney James Addition, from Pinkney and Ann Mary James for 150 dollars. In 1843, when the deed was written, the property was located in Dearborn County, Indiana but by the time the deed was recorded, it had become part of Ohio County, Indiana.
