Sharp Family Land Purchase, Rising Sun, IN, 1843

On 24 November 1843, William Sharpe purchased In Lot 42 of Pinkney James Addition, from Pinkney and Ann Mary James for 150 dollars. In 1843, when the deed was written, the property was located in Dearborn County, Indiana but by the time the deed was recorded, it had become part of Ohio County, Indiana. This census enumeration was made in 1840, a decade earlier than the 1850 census in a previous post. The 1840 census does not give the names of all members of the household, only the head (William Sharp). Other members of the household were counted within various age brackets. Household members who were employed, were also counted in various occupation categories.
