About two years earlier, the U.S. census for 1920[2],
showed Albert Slesser, his wife Ida, and daughter Hallie living together in Carrsville.
In her role as wife, Ida supplied the death certificate's personal information about Albert:
- Birth date: 1 August 1849
- Occupation: Farmer and General work
- Birthplace: Germany
- Father's name: C. A. Slesser
- Father's birthplace: Germany
- Mother's name: Louise Boettcher

The attending physician, A. A. Casper, M.D., had diagnosed Albert's illness as "chronic interstitial nephritis"
(kidney inflammation) about two weeks before his death. Dr. Casper estimated that Albert had suffered from
this condition for about one year.
