Thompson and Robertson Property Sale to Ruby Hefley, Memphis, Shelby Co., TN, 1961

In this warranty deed^[1], Aimee W. Thompson and Hallie D. Robertson, grantors, convey the property at 1980 Young Ave., Shelby County, Memphis, Tennessee, to Ruby Hefley, grantee, on 23 June 1961. Images of the deed and commentary follow:

Commentary:

The Affidavit of Heirship^[2], the subject of a previous post, transferred the title of the property formerly owned by Ida B. Slesser, to her heirs Aimee W. Thompson and "Hattie" D. Robertson on 16 June 1961. This was a prerequisite for Ida's daughters to sell the property on 23 June 1961 to Ruby Hefley.

This deed of sale by Aimee and Hallie references Ida's original deed of purchase^[3]: "being the same property conveyed to Ida B. Slesser by warranty deed from S. H. Williams and wife, Ethel Parker Williams, dated May 21, 1921, of record in Record Book 756, Page 376 of said Register's Office." So, although the digital image of the 1921 document is now illegible, this back reference clarifies the particulars of Ida's original purchase.

In 1935, at the time of Ida's death, Hallie D. Robertson was living at 1980 Young Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee^[4]. It isn't known whether she continued to live at that address up until the time the property was sold.
