Tombstone Tuesday - Agnes Sharp (1863-1874)

Agnes Sharp, my grandaunt, was buried in the Sharp family plot of Old Good Hope Cemetery, Livingston County, Kentucky next to the burial place of her parents, William C. and Delilah Sharp. She was only 11 years old at the time of her death.

Old Good Hope Cemetery (Livingston County, Kentucky; 1 mile from intersection of state roads 133 and 1436 (Pisgah Road) on the side of Newman's Bluff), Agnes Sharp marker, photographed by Stanley Mitchell, May 27, 2001.

Commentary:

Although this grave marker is a primary source for her death date, and the only source for her complete birth date, there is at least one additional record that tells us something of her short life. The 1870 U.S. census lists Agnes in the household of William Sharp and she is reported to be 7 years old (consistent with a 10 May 1863 birth date) and her birth place was Illinois.
In the intervening years since this photograph was taken, an asphalt service road has been constructed which passes by the cemetery. This road is named Old Good Hope Cemetery Road on Google Maps:
