Tombstone Tuesday - Delilah (Neal) Sharp (1824-1904)

This tombstone is for Delila N. and William C. Sharp, my great-grandparents from my mother's side of the family. Inscriptions cover three sides of the stone; here, only Delila's side is shown, another side is for William (shown in a previous post), and one more is for their marriage. Delila's final resting place is in the Old Good Hope Cemetery, Livingston County, Kentucky, about 1/4 mile southwest of the former family homestead.

Inscription reads:
"Mother
Delila N
Wife Of
William C
Sharp
Born
Nov. 9, 1824
Died
Jan. 30, 1904"
----
"We shall meet again sweet mother
In a brighter clime than this
Where the anguish of this world of ours
Is lost in deathless bliss"

Commentary:

This grave marker is the primary source for Delila's date of death and it is the only known source with an explicit birth date.
