This census enumeration was made in 1840, a decade earlier than the 1850 census in a previous post. The 1840 census does not give the names of all members of the household, only the head (William Sharp). Other members of the household were counted within various age brackets. Household members who were employed, were also counted in various occupation categories.

Tombstone Tuesday - Delilah (Neal) Sharp (1824-1904)
This tombstone is for Delila N. and William C. Sharp, my
great-grandparents from my mother's side of the family. Inscriptions
cover three sides of the stone; here, only Delila's side is shown,
another side is for William (shown in a previous post), and one more is for their marriage. Delila's final resting place is in the Old Good Hope Cemetery,
Livingston County, Kentucky, about 1/4 mile southwest of the former
family homestead.
